Before you start
- An n8n account.
- A Gmail account connected as a credential (your sending inbox).
- Two Google Sheets (or two tabs): your leads sheet (from Chapter 1) and a Cold Email Tracker sheet with a Suppression tab.
- An OpenAI / OpenRouter API key (gpt-4o writes the emails).
- A Telegram bot + your chat ID (failure alerts).
Quick setup guide
- 1Sheets: Have your leads sheet (Chapter 1) and a tracker sheet with a Suppression tab. Put YOURSHEETID and YOURTRACKERSHEETID in the Settings node and on each Sheets node.
- 2Personalize Settings: Change senderName, senderIdentity, offer, signature, dailyCap, and the banned-words list to yours.
- 3Credentials: Connect Gmail, Google Sheets, OpenAI/OpenRouter, and Telegram (set YOURCHATID).
- 4Tune the AI: In the system message, replace the AquaPure offer with what you sell (keep the structure + anti-spam rules).
- 5Test: Add one test lead (your own email), lower dailyCap/perRun, run once, and confirm a personalized email arrives and the tracker row appears.
What success looks like: A steady, safe drip of genuinely personalized cold emails — each researched and written for one real prospect, throttled and spam-checked to protect your domain — all logged for the follow-up engine to pick up.
Common problems and fixes
No emails send
Why: Cap hit, PAUSED, or no new leads
Fix: Check Suppression for PAUSED; lower used cap; add fresh leads
Emails look generic
Why: Website fetch blocked
Fix: Normal for some sites; the AI falls back to niche-level facts
Lands in spam
Why: Volume/words
Fix: Keep caps low, warm the inbox, keep the banned-words + plain-text rules
